Description:

Established in 2018, the Creating Opportunity Fund Scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to commencing students facing hardship, ensuring they can access higher education. Eligible hardships include but are not limited to: relocation from a regional or remote area, single-parent background, first in the family to attend university, domestic violence, ongoing medical conditions, non-English speaking background, social or cultural disadvantage, or adjusting to life in Australia as a refugee.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible, applicants must:

  1. Be commencing an Australian Catholic University course in Semester 1, 2025.
  2. Be either:
    • A domestic student, or
    • An international asylum seeker holding one of the following visas:
      • Temporary Protection Visa (TPV)
      • Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (SHEV)
      • Bridging Visa A (BVA)
      • Bridging Visa E (BVE)
      • Temporary Humanitarian Stay Visa (Subclass 449)
      • Temporary Humanitarian Concern Visa (Subclass 786)
  3. Be enrolling in any Australian Catholic University undergraduate degree.
  4. Demonstrate financial need and face hardships or barriers to education.
