Description: The Vice-Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship (formerly known as the University of Waikato International Excellence Scholarship until 2023) was established in 2015 to support high-achieving international students, promote global engagement, and enhance educational opportunities.
The scholarship provides tuition fee credits valued at up to NZD 15,000 for undergraduate students and up to NZD 10,000 for postgraduate students. Scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence. Recipients may be invited to serve as global ambassadors for the University of Waikato.
Eligibility:
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of one of the following countries: Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, and Vietnam

- Applicants should apply under the general Vice-Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship if not from these countries.
- Be applying as a new international student for full-time enrollment in an undergraduate or postgraduate program at the University of Waikato.
- Have received a conditional or unconditional offer of admission from the University of Waikato.
- Have a minimum GPA equivalency of B+ in their previous academic qualification used for entry to the University of Waikato.
