The 2023 Sanofi Healthcare Access Challenge for Innovative Startups and Entrepreneurs is a global initiative aimed at identifying and supporting innovative solutions that improve access to healthcare for people around the world. The challenge is sponsored by Sanofi, a global pharmaceutical company that is committed to improving healthcare outcomes and making healthcare more accessible to people in need. The challenge is open to startups and entrepreneurs who are developing innovative solutions to address healthcare access issues in low- and middle-income countries. The solutions can be related to any aspect of healthcare, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and healthcare delivery.
The challenge provides funding, mentorship, and support to selected startups and entrepreneurs. The funding amount varies depending on the stage of development of the proposed solution, with up to €100,000 available for startups with a working prototype and up to €30,000 available for startups with a proof of concept. The selected startups and entrepreneurs also receive mentorship and support from Sanofi and its partners to help develop and scale their solutions. Final event
The grand final will take place at the annual AU-EU Innovation Event in Cape Town (South Africa), bringing together key actors from the European and African innovation ecosystem. It is a unique opportunity to earn global exposure and seize amazing networking opportunities.
During the event, the 3 finalists will pitch their solutions in front of a jury of innovation experts and Sanofi executives.

Timeline:
- Application: March 20, 2023 – Apr 30, 2023, Answer a few questions & submit your 5–10 slides ppt deck to present your solution.
- Shortlisting: May 1, 2023 – May 14, 2023 Projects will be reviewed and selected by Sanofi and ENRICH in Africa partners.
- Final Event: June 15, 2023 – The 3 finalists will be invited to pitch at the AU-EU innovation festival in Cape Town.
