The University of Sussex is offering this opportunity to one student from the University to further their knowledge in organ playing for free, it is conducting such scholarship in honor and memory of its much-loved former music lecturer and organist, Dr John Birch (1929-2012). Eligibility: To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- Have obtained Grade 8 or equivalent in organ playing.
- Be an applicant or current student at the University of Sussex (open to applicants for 2023 entry)

Number of Scholarships: One
Value of Scholarship: £800 cash award. In addition, the selected recipient will receive access to the music practice rooms in the School of Media, Arts and Humanities (MAH). All applicants who reach the audition stage, regardless of the success of their application, will be offered the opportunity to be part of a list of performers who are willing to perform at events around campus or are interested in collaboration with other musicians.
