The 2023 Google Africa/African Youth Envoy Digital Skills Campaign for Youth-led SMEs
From the Office of the Youth Envoy, in cooperation with Google Africa, you are hereby invited to participate in the Digital Skills Campaign for youth-led SMEs.
The 2023 Google Africa/African Youth Envoy Digital Skills Campaign for Youth–led SMEs seeks to empower youth–led small and medium–sized enterprises (SMEs) in Africa with the skills and knowledge to utilize digital opportunities whenever they come across them. The campaign will concentrate on supplying training, resources, and assistance to help African youth–led SMEs become more competitive, better equipped to attract funding, and better positioned to expand their businesses. The campaign which will be held on the 12th of May in Antananarivo, Madagascar will focus on providing the following digital skills:
- Website design and development
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Digital Marketing
- Social media marketing
- Data Analytics
- Cybersecurity
- Business process automation
- Cloud computing
- Artificial intelligence

The campaign will also contain mentorship and coaching support to help SMEs use the digital skills they obtain in practical and effective ways. It will also include a series of workshops and seminars to build awareness and understanding of the opportunities open to African youth-led SMEs through digital technology. The campaign will be supported by Google Africa, the African Union’s African Youth Envoy, and other partners. It will be implemented in collaboration with regional and national governments, private sector stakeholders, and civil society groups.
Eligibility Criteria for the 2023 Google Africa/African Youth Envoy Digital Skills Campaign
To participate in the Digital Skills Campaign in Antananarivo on May 12th, interested individuals must meet the following criteria:
- Must have an existing small business or intent to start a business soon
- Must be based in Antananarivo, Madagascar
- Must be present at the venue on May 12.
Please note that this inaugural workshop will only be available to participants who meet the above criteria and can attend the workshop in person. After submission of interest, the selected list of participants will receive the official invitation letter via email with more information.
