The 2023 Google Conference Scholarships for African Students
Google is dedicated to supporting the next generation of innovators to become more diverse and comprehensive. To support this effort, Google is granting scholarships to African students around the world to attend its 2023 Google Conference. The conference will be held in different areas worldwide and will contain discussions, workshops, and activities related to technology, artificial intelligence, computer science, and related fields. Eligibility Conditions for the 2023 Google Conference Scholarships
In order to be eligible for a gOOGLE scholarship to attend an international conference, applicants must:
- Be a full-time student enrolled with a recognized university in Africa who is in need of conference travel funds.
- Have a paper accepted at a top-tier computer science conference. (Google prefers to support conferences in research areas where it has a strong interest). Please visit research.google.com for a log of areas.
- Be the sole or joint first author of the accepted paper.
- Google employees are not eligible to apply for Google scholarships. Persons who are;
(1) Residents of embargoed countries,
(2) Ordinarily resident in embargoed countries, or
(3) Otherwise prohibited by applicable export controls and sanctions programs may not apply for this scholarship.
Merits
These scholarships are specially planned to support selected individuals, licensing them to attend influential conferences and broaden their professional horizons.
Procedures for Application
The Scholarships will be granted to very qualified individuals based on application checks. Each applicant would be informed of their status according to the time frames fixed for the region. Applications would be reviewed on a rotating basis, all year round, hence eligible applicants will get replies around four weeks of applying. Please apply for the grant thoroughly before the Conference start date, as the payment completion timeline can be between 5-8 weeks. Once approved for a travel grant, the funds will be paid to the applicant’s university and the student may claim expenses using regular university procedures.
